Yet another addition to our sizeable Automizer integration library. This time, following the requests of our customers, it’s Traffic Nomads. Synchronize costs, change bids or pause campaigns either from Voluum’s dashboard or with auto-rules.
Additionally, Big Data Reports now allow to group by IP.
Contact Traffic Nomads to get your API key and you will be able to set up an integration in Voluum in seconds.
Learn more about what you can do with this integration from our documentation.
We have great news for all marketers working with Facebook. Until recently, you could use the integration with Facebook to synchronize costs with Voluum and pass conversion information to Facebook. It was already a big deal.
Now, the most recent update to the Automizer lets you pause and resume your Facebook campaigns within Voluum. You can even create auto-rules that do just that!
From May 2022, you can pause and resume your integrated Facebook campaigns using:
- Voluum interface
- Auto-rules
You can set auto-rules using any launch conditions. Campaigns will be paused or resumed when these conditions are met.
One of the biggest updates of the year brings you the new direct tracking scripts that can allow you to design and track the campaign funnel you have always wanted. These scripts allow for navigation between pages within the context of a single visit. Direct people to your store’s main page (or product category page), allow visitors to navigate between pages when browsing products, track the click on the CTA button – and all this will be counted as a single visit in Voluum!
What is more, these scripts use cookies that refer to domains of your landing or offer pages, not your tracking domain, which means that these cookies will always be treated as first-party ones – and therefore not blocked!
Lastly, as a part of this update, a conversion tracking script has been modified to read those first-party cookies. You can track conversions on your own pages knowing that even when Google Chrome finally starts blocking third-party cookies, you will be on the safe side.
That’s not the only thing that we have worked on. Enjoy a better calendar that allows you to compare any time periods, even if their length is different or these periods overlap.
For more advanced users, we’ve added an option to track offers that were not added to Voluum – and attribute those visits to an offer that is in Voluum.
Since April 2022, both direct tracking scripts have been modified in the following ways:
- They set cookies both in a domain that you use for tracking and in a domain of a landing page (lander tracking script) or offer (offer tracking script)
- Lander tracking script enables using subpages between a landing page (a page where a visitor ‘lands after clicking the ad) and a page with click URLs. Both of these pages require lander tracking script
- Offer tracking script enables first-party cookie conversion tracking. If you want to track conversions with a Conversion tracking script, you should put Offer tracking script on an offer page, even if you have a landing page in a funnel. It sets a first-party cookie with click ID information that will be read by a Conversion tracking script. You also need to pass click ID information in an offer URL using any parameter name.
Scripts used before April 2022 will continue to work. However, we recommend updating scripts to the newest version to ensure the smoothest experience.
Read the Track Multistep Funnels with a Direct Method article to learn more.
This feature enables tracking of various offers that were not added to Voluum. This may be useful for some cases:
- You have a lot of offers but you don’t need to track each of them individually
- You have offers with auto-generated URLs
In these cases, you should add an offer that all visits will be attributed to to Voluum and grab the Offer tracking script.
Then you have to modify it to include this offer’s ID. Detailed instructions can be found in the Track Offer Visits Without Funnel Setup article.
Lastly, you put the same modified Offer tracking script on all offer pages that you want to track.
Note that this setup only works for funnels that don’t use landing pages.
Until this update, you could only compare data from time periods of the same length. For example, last week to the one before that.
From now on, you can compare data from any time periods: first 3 days of March to the second week in April.
You can see changes in columns, as well as on the chart. See the Getting Started With Reports Step 3: Comparing Changes article for more details.
That’s right, since March you can easily see user’s journey by viewing all activities tied to a concrete click ID. This is especially useful for offer owners or ecommerce store owners. You can also group events by various postback parameters, so read more below!
There are also further Automizer improvements that allow you to set bids as a percentage of a given column. Plus, a support for multiple external IDs in a traffic source form.
This feature allows you to group within one or multiple campaigns by the following elements:
- Click ID
- External ID
- Param 1-5
- Transaction ID
What this means is that you can see the whole visitor journey. For example, all event tied to a click ID:
More specifically, you can:
- Track single users within one campaign
- Track a user across multiple campaigns using external ID or other postback parameters (param1 – param5)
- See all conversions within a single campaign by custom variables
Visit our article to learn how to use this feature.
This feature allows you to create a rule where you tie bids with a percentage value of a given column.
In some cases, you need to record more than one external IDs. For example, it can be used for passing wbraid/gbraid to internal system or analytics.
Just create a new traffic source and click the Add external ID button.
Since the introduction of the collaboration tools, we’ve seen Voluum as a flexible tool for various user types and different use cases. With the introduction of the new user role, Read-only user, we are expanding the number of use scenarios even more!
Invite users to Voluum without giving them edit rights and control which parts of your data they are allowed to see by hiding selected columns from their view.
On top of this big update there is a smaller one that makes setting up tracking of organic traffic 3x easier.
Go to Settings / Collaboration Tools / Multi-user and invite read only users from there:
Assigned the new user to one or more workspaces and decide if you want to hide some columns from their view.
Organic tracking allows you to track visits and click that came to your landing page without activating a campaign URL. In most cases, this means tracking visitors who found your page organically, for example, via the search engine.
Before you had to manually edit the direct tracking script to include your campaign’s ID in it, since it has not been passed via the campaign URL. However, thanks to this update, the campaign ID will automatically be added to the direct tracking script when you create and then select the ‘Organic’ traffic source.
The most requested integration is here. Connect your favorite tracker’s account with the generation defining app to get all the usual perks, like cost synchronization and automation.
There’s also a new feature, still in beta, which may revolutionize the way you collaborate with others. Click below to learn more about Read-only users!
Integrate your TikTok account with Voluum’s to not only get automatic cost updates, campaign control from the Voluum panel and automatic rules, but also the option to report conversions to TikTok that were recorded with a postback.
Just go to the Automizer tab, then ‘Traffic sources’ and look for TikTok.
Note that as of time of writing, this feature is in beta and is only available for selected users.
Read-only user is a new role that the Voluum user can assume, next to Admin and Workers. Roles are a part of Collaboration Tools, a complex feature designed for team collaboration.
With this new role, users can get access to Voluum without edit rights. They can only view stats from the assigned Private Workspace shown in columns that were not hidden from them by Admins or an Account Owner.
December was the month we work really hard on many projects that will see the light of the day in the coming year. That does not mean that we did nothing to make Voluum even a slightly better tool for you. Go through the list of updates below to find out how your work just got a bit easier.
We’ve increased the decimal CPC precision from 0.00001 to 0.000001.
We’ve added a new group of templates for iGaming affiliate programs, available when adding a new affiliate network.
We’ve added new time frames for auto-rules and new periods of time for excluding the condition for your convenience.
November resulted in several updates. Among them, there are Column templates, a feature that you didn’t know you needed but will not be able to live without once you’ve tried it. It allows you to save a column order as a template and use it wherever necessary.
Many advertisers will also appreciate integration with Yahoo! This integration allows to pass conversion data from Voluum to Yahoo! And the coolest part is that you don’t even need to go through the troublesome process of acquiring credentials. This integration is a one-click solution!
There is also the integration with AdOperator and some other small improvements. Check them all out!
To create a column template, click the Columns button, set the custom order of columns, and then save it as a template.
Yahoo! integration allows to pass conversion data from Voluum to this platform. There are no credentials required – your requests will be authorized with Voluum general credentials, and conversions will be attributed using Yahoo! click ID.
Now you can enable smart rotation for each rule condition.
You can now enable the following columns in the conversion report:
- State/region
- City
- Path ID
- User agent
The integration with AdOperator offers the full scope of Automizer functionalities:
- Control your AdOperator campaigns from within Voluum.
- Synchronize costs for campaign and subid
- Create auto-rules
October brought to Voluum some useful features designed to make working with Voluum easier. For starters, there’s the Bulk cost update feature that allows you to update or restore costs manually for multiple campaigns. Then there’s the Conversion statuses feature, which may tell you if conversions from your integrated traffic sources have been uploaded successfully.
This feature allows you to select multiple campaigns and update their costs all at once.
You can provide different cost values and select different currencies for each campaign.
The rules are:
- Campaign cannot be archived
- You cannot update costs for DSP campaigns
- Campaign needs to have at least one visit
The Automizer has now got a significant update. This update displays you a detailed information about each conversion: its timestamp, external ID, payout, and status.
If the conversion upload status is failed, you will get a short explanation on the probable reason.
Our September pride are Big Data Reports. They show the true might of Voluums’ database and reporting engine. From now on, you can request even the biggest reports with up to 4 grouping options and get them via email in a convenient CSV file format. Whenever you select the fourth grouping option, or try to generate a report for a really long time range, or simply select the ‘Big Data Reports’ option from the ‘Export/Import’ menu, you will see the configuration window. Define your parameters there and wait a few moments for your report to be delivered.
There are also some minor updates to the Automizer and postbacks with no click ID.
The Big Data Report configuration windows allows you to select even four grouping options, a time zone, time range, and a campaign.
Additionally, you can provide up to five email addresses for your report to be delivered to. Visit our support article for more information.
Note that the number of reports you can request per month is defined in your pricing plan. Contact our sales team to purchase more reports!
For all situations where you cannot get a click ID that was associated with your conversion in the postback URL, you could use a fallback mechanism that attributed conversions to the specific campaign.
Now you can pass additional information in the postback URL:
- offer ID
- lander ID
- flow ID
- path ID
Doing so will attribute conversions to these elements as well. Read the support article to learn more.
You can now change bids for Outbrain ad and section dimension inside the Voluum panel or via Auto-rules.
