Starting from Scratch

For Medier’s display team, Voluum was the starting point. Before Voluum, Medier’s display team had no central place to see how campaigns were performing across networks, and no clean way to connect that performance data to their affiliate system, Referon.

The growing challenges of running campaigns across such a diverse set of traffic sources such as direct display, ad networks, DSPs, social media forced them to seek a solution.

The core problem was technical but had real operational consequences: the need to pass click ID reliably between ad networks and the affiliate system. Getting click ID parameters to pass correctly through the funnel required careful setup. Without that working reliably, the data couldn’t be trusted, and without trustworthy data, optimization was largely guesswork.
